ABOUT LAKE ELMORE & STOWE

Need a place to enjoy nature, have fun or just wander? Maybe you want to work remotely or just read your book and sip a nice cup of coffee. We are tucked away at the end of a private road, in Lake Elmore. Wildlife abounds out your window. Take a 1/2 mile stroll to the lake, State Park hiking trails and the Elmore Store. Elmore is mostly forested and agricultural land with a population of 900 residents. Lake Elmore and Elmore Mountain, which rises almost from the lake’s shore, are prominent features of our town. Elmore hosts the last remaining functional Vermont one room school house.

Our area is like a Hallmark movie taking you back in time but with all the current advantages of today's lifestyles. Our adjacent neighbor, the quintessential New England village of Stowe is  a short drive only 14 miles away. Shopping, restaurants and tourism live here. Stowe is a premier four season resort destination particularly renowned for its alpine and nordic recreation, mountain biking, hiking, paddling, fishing and world class spas.

The Elmore Store, in operation since the 1840's, has everything you may need including freshly made deli and pizza offerings with a fine selection of local beverages. Enjoy lunch out back and dine on the patio overlooking the lake.
